One of the biggest problems that founders face is trying to determine who to compensate for those coming into their organisation. Sometimes even co-founders who are looking to join a venture are seeking compensation. This is not unfair given that they are going to be doing a job. Frankly, it is very hard to determine the right compensation package for any incoming employee when your cashflows are little to none.
Also, once you get your cashflows going it is a challenge to figure out the compensation given that the market-based salaries are an order of magnitude higher than what your business might be able to afford. Balancing the need to compensate appropriately and breaking the bank is important.
This workshop will cover the different models that startups use around the world to compensate, incentivise and reward team members and ensure that the same is not completely upfront. Different businesses and industries take different approaches and we will look at all the permutations that are at your disposal to be able to compensate team members.
